Magnolia Collection

The original artwork behind the collection has been shown internationally, including exhibitions across Europe and in the United States. Seeing the work travel and meet new audiences became part of its story – and eventually inspired another way for the artwork to continue living through design.

When I began exploring the world of design, I became fascinated by the idea that an original artwork could continue its story in a completely different form. Art does not always have to hang on a wall. It can become something you wear, something you carry, or something beautiful that becomes part of everyday life.

For more than a year, I have been developing and testing different products created from my original artworks. I have ordered many of the samples myself and used them in real life – from silk scarves and bags to cosmetic bags and smaller accessories. Seeing and using the products myself has been an important part of the process, as has discovering how other people respond to them when they are actually worn and carried.

The Magnolia Collection has developed slowly through that process. Designs have been changed, colours and placements adjusted, products tested and sometimes removed when they did not feel quite right. I wanted the final pieces to retain the softness and layered expression of the original artwork while still working beautifully as objects in their own right.

Each piece carries a fragment of “Meet Me Under the Magnolia Tree”, allowing the original mixed media artwork to take on a new life through design.

For me, this collection is about bringing art beyond the canvas – art to wear, carry, use and live with.

I hope you will love these pieces as much as I have loved creating, testing and developing them. My wish is that they bring a little more beauty, colour and art into everyday life.
